Cancelling an install

Hi Friedrich,

When you hit the cancel button on an install a message pops up asking
if you are sure that you want to quit the setup. When you hit Yes,
the setup is still there and you have to hit the finish button to
cancel it. Most of the time the setup screen loses focus when you
click the "Yes" on the message window so it is not obvious that the
setup is still running. Go to compile and it tells you it can't
because the setup is running. The "Finish" is also confusing since
you have just selected to _cancel_ the install and now you have to
finish it... Can this be changed so that when the install is
cancelled it actually cancels the install and terminates it?

Hi Arnór,

The "Finish" button on a cancel is industry standard. Try to cancel
any .msi installer. You'll see the "Finish" button.

You can use the "Skip Abort" (main Loop Wizard) option to skip the
"Abort Dialog".

Doesn't mean it makes any more sense just because MS does it<g> The
problem is that at least when SB5 is running, the Finish window
always, witout exception (on my machines) appears _behind_ SB5. So I
have to get the window into focus and kill it. This does _not_ seem
to be a problem if the SB5 IDE is not running - hadn't realized that
until just now.

I have 9 test machines here (running Windows 95 up to Vista 64-bit) but
haven't seen this SetForegroundWindow problem for weeks now (with the
SB5 13xx and 14xx builds).

The problem is that quite a few anti-spyware tools, popup blocker, etc.
"block" calls to SetForegroundWindow.

When I run that CR msi I mentioned in previous post, it pops a
question if you are sure you want to exit the install and when you
click "Exit Install" it pops another message about terminating and
then it terminates. I.e. the Finish does not come up again.

_That_ could be the problem as I have popup blockers on my machines.

Yes, you can suppress that dialog. What I meant was the "Finish"
button. By default, Windows Installer displays the attached dialog
(with "Finish" button) if you exit an installation.
