How would I know what "GEN 1053" means and how to fix it?
I cannot find "Compiler error" or "Error codes" or "Generator Warnings"
(which I would have thought are the obvious keywords) in the index.

GEN1053 is for our technical support and tells us where in the compilation
process the code-signing fails.
The Microsoft code-signing tool does not return any error code.
Start SignCode.exe and code-sign that specific executable manually. It's
possible that the tool displays an error description.
