Installer Error: 0001

Hi Friedrich,

A customer is experiencing this error "Installer Error: 0001" on pretty much
all my installs (some are SB 6.x some are old SB4 installs). He has
downloaded twice with same results. When I download everything is fine and
the installs run without problems.

Any ideas?

I think it is one of the following:

1. Corrupt download
2. Temporary Windows folder is "locked"
3. "Protection" software (anti-virus, anti-spyware, etc.) blocks
SetupBuilder application execution.

IMO, it is #3.

Does this help?

BTW, in SetupBuilder 6.x the loader error format is 0001:xxxx. The xxxx can
give us more information. But whatever it is, it's a problem on his side.

Yes. After taking a closer look, all the installs that failed were SB 4.x
installs. I got some information forwarded with a suggestion that in SB4.02
there was a limit on the temp path length of 128 characters and the path
could be longer and that could cause this error.

He also had a problem with a Build Automator install which I believe is in
SB 6.8, which didn't make sense to me. So I think there is something
interfering. Will let you know if I get any more info:)
