Directory Search

This has probably been asked/answered before. I am creating a new install
where by new data is installed to the previously installed full application.
The data changes monthly and some clients want to receive the new data every
month.

Since some install to a different directory other than the default
directory, or even to a different drive - is there a way to search for the
exe and install the new data to the directory where the exe resides.

Next step is to explore use the Web Update - but I haven't got that far yet
:)

Don,

If you don't write the installation path to the registry, you can use the
"Search for File" script function to search for the exe. It finds the
exe, just pass the directory to the %_SB_INSTALLDIR% variable.

Of course, you can display a "Please Wait..." dialog while the search is
in progress.

Yes, and I should have looked at the help files and your examples first :))
I haven't had a chance to look closely at the example, but it appears to
address this with the details.

I haven't looked into this yet but you could probably tell me what I need to
know without me searching for it:

When doing a directory search, can I eliminate folders from the search (e.g.
ignore DEMO folder)

Hi Warren,

No, it's not possible to eliminate folders from the search.

But we'll add a "Search Depth" (similar to the option in the "Check In-use
Folder Tree" function) to one of the next builds.
