Hello,

We are a long time user of the NSIS open-source installation tool. We realized that an archiving tool named 7-Zip can "decompile" our LZMA compressed installers now (all is available - the script, the password, serial number, files, etc. ). Does the SetupBuilder installer rely on LZMA? Can 7-Zip "decompile" your installer?

I believe SB uses LSZip, Linder'a own compressions product.

SetupBuilder 5 compiles native 32-bit installations. We have developed our own state-of-the-art runtime library and compression technology to keep installer overhead to an absolute minimum and to provide a maximum of security.

No, 7-Zip cannot open or decompile installers compiled with SetupBuilder 5.
