View Full Version : Server Upgrade

All,
Because our server is experiencing very high traffic, we have to upgrade
to a new power machine.
More than 5,000 SetupBuilder 5 evaluation downloads per month and 8,000
page requests per day is way too much for our current machine.
I hope downtime will only be one or two minutes tomorrow morning.
Regards,

Thank you :)
The web sites are running on an Athlon XP2100+ now. To improve MySQL
database performance, we moved all databases to a new Pentium 4 3000 MHz
server.
Another problem was that SetupBuilder 5 evaluation versions consumed
75GB/month traffic. Web updates and full versions consumed 20GB/month
traffic. Online Community (with permanent 24/7 Google, MSN, Inktomisearch,
etc. scanning) consumed about 100GB/month traffic. All in all, we had
200GB of traffic last month.
We can handle 400GB/month traffic now.

Server upgraded - we have enough bandwidth and performance now. Downtime
was about two minutes.
