View Full Version : Dynamic source folders

Hi Friedrich,

In order to standardize my installs, I would like to be able to specify the
_source folders_ for the install files with a variable or something.

Example. All my documents into third partyinstalls come from
Products\productname\latest\3rdparty\docs\productn ame

even if they are being included for C7, that is the source folder. What I
would like to be able to do is something like this:

[docfolder]\[productfolder]

or something to that effect, instead of specifying the full OS foldername.
I _seem_ to recall you talking about something like this but I can't find
any reference to it.

Any ideas?

Best regards,

Arnor,

The magic of SB :
declare a compiler variable say %SOURCE_PATH%
fill it in with whatever value you require
Use Menu Project/Convert File source Path and simply change your hard coded part of path to %SOURCE_PATH%

Mix those to your needs and the soup is ready et voila :)

Hi Arnór,

Absolutely no problem. Just use a compiler variable in the "Source Folder"
field and let the compiler do the hard work ;-)

Cool. That will make it easy for me to create a "template" for my installs
with some ready made stuff:)
