All,

-- To update an existing SetupBuilder 6 installation, you have two options:

1. Over the web update via "Web Update"

Select "Help | Check for Updates..." in your SetupBuilder IDE. If an update
is available, web update brings your current SetupBuilder version to the
latest build. See attached "webupdate.jpg" screenshot.

2. Update via a full install image in "Maintenance Mode"

Start the full install image and SetupBuilder detects your current version.
The installer switches into "Maintenance Mode" and brings your current
SetupBuilder version to the latest build. See attached "update.jpg"
screenshot.

-- Repair, Uninstall, Rollback

1. Repair and Uninstall

If you run an install image which has already been installed, SetupBuilder
detects your current version and switches into "Repair Mode". See attached
"repair.jpg" screenshot.

This mode can also be used to completely uninstall your current SetupBuilder
version.

2. Install an "older" version over a "new" one

If you try to install an earlier version of SetupBuilder, the installer
detects this and does not allow to continue. See attached "oldversion.jpg"
screenshot.

3. Rollback to previous version

If a SetupBuilder update introduces a bug (like the "#copy file..." issue in
the previous Build 2481) then you can always "rollback" to the previous
version by using the SetupBuilder "smart uninstall" feature. See attached
"rollback.jpg" screenshot.

I hope you find the above useful.

This what I see on Windows 7 (see image)

Notice that this is not inside any group identifying the program that will
rollback.

Kind regards

Ben

Your Windows 7 automatically placed it there ;-) Vista uses the same method
to display new or "most used" shortcuts. Go to All Programs -> SetupBuilder
6 and you'll see *all* the SetupBuilder shortcuts (including the Rollback
shortcut).

Does this help?

Friedrich

BTW, this screenshot is from a Vista 64-bit machine. Windows Vista, 2008
and Windows 7 use the same method. Even XP makes use of it. Windows
handles this automatically behind-the-scenes. But I assume, you do not have
many programs installed on your Windows 7 and so you'll notice this
"feature" immediately ;-)

Yes... I do not have many programs installed .

I did notice this previously, but did not bother about this .... I just need
to make sure when I use this feature, to include the program name (if it is
possible)

Kind Regards

Ben

Good idea! I'll change the Shortcut name to "Rollback to SetupBuilder Build
X.X.X.X" in the next build.
