Hi, we're eagerly awaiting the live update functionality. Do you have any comments when you think it will be ready for testing ?
Thanks again for the product, its over our expectations what it can so easily do.

Is there a LiveUpdate feature available in SetupBuilder 5 (integrated into the IDE)? This would be great. Or do we have to buy an add-on product?

Rene,
Web Update will be part of SetupBuilder 5 Developer Edition.
Web Update (powered by our iDeploy technology) allows you to add live Internet version updating to your program (like Symantech's LiveUpdate). You install a small client application along with your software to give the option to check for newer versions of your applications. The client downloads the latest setup script from your server to manage your software updates over the Internet. We'll eat our own dog food - SetupBuilder 5 will use this feature to "live update" itself.
Of course, you can use *all* SetupBuilder 5 features in this web update process (registry, services, post HTTP, ODBC, binary patching, etc., etc.).
Just drop me an email if you have any questions.

We are very interested in the auto-update feature. We want to ensure that our clients can only use it if they have a current support contract with us, so what kind of mechanism could we use to time-validate the auto-update feature?
Regards,
Jeff

Jeff,
We have to wait until next week to release the "web-update" feature. A Clarion 6.1 hotfix is required in order to release this feature (SB5 is developed in Clarion 6.1).
Thanks,
