View Full Version : Load File List - how to get just the top level directory - ie. no Search Depth

We just installed SB 6.9.2537
Previously a Load File List InstallDir\XYZ\*.tps that worked to just load the
list from folder XYZ and to not look in subfolders. In the dialog we specified
the "Search Depth" as blank and that loaded only a list of files from the
specified directory, not from any subfolders.
Now in this 6.9 version a blank search depth is ending up as "0" (shows as "0"
in script listing) and searching all sub folders.
How do we just search the XYZ folder?

A search depth of 1 is giving the right answer, only the count of the files in
the base folder.
IMO the help says that 1 means to search the base folder plus 1 level deep,
i.e. the first level of child folders.

I believe Friedrich has fixed this in the help but it was very recently and
it may not be available for download yet. I also ran into this recently
with the same results;)

You are right. It's already changed in the SB7 documentation, but did not
make it into the SB6 documentation.
It should read:
---
Search Depth:
[in] Specify how deeply into sub-folders the search should look. It will
limit the search to the specified Path Name search location and X number of
subfolders within that directory. A search depth of 1 searches only the root
directory, a search depth of 2 searches the root directory and the next
sub-folders in it, and so on. A search depth of 0 searches all folders and
sub-folders.
---
Thanks,
Friedrich
