View Full Version : Suggestion re. Font installation

Having already "installed" the Font files, it is a PITA to have to
"Register" them separately - esp. when the SB dialog to do so offers no
'assistance' (look-ups or GUI) , unlike installing the files. Just straight
typing (or cut/paste) is required (see plain dialog below)

Why not combine the two into a "Install & Register Font" function?

Either add the new function, or simply extend the usefulness of "Install
File", enabling checkbox for "Register Font" if it is detected that there is
a .TTF in the name (or whatever).

When using SB I am often struck by the disparity between the ease of using
some parts, and the longwindedness of using others (esp. where I have to
type variables/names in! <g>).. this is one of those.

For the file name, you can use Ctrl-right-click and select the variable
from a list. More a memory aid than a timesaver.

Not true for the font name however. This feature seems to be hit or miss.

I cannot follow you (again). <Crtl>+<Right-Mouse-Button> gives you access
to variables in the "Font File Name" field.

And the "Install File..." function provides an option to automatically
register the font (Advanced Tab).

Ooh - that's embarrassing... seems what I most wanted is already there -
EXACTLY as I wanted it!

Never knew that - must check out these other tabs...thanks.
