Weekly Webinar #10 Welcomes Jane Fleming!
Webinar scheduled Friday, May 29th at 9am PDT (GMT -8). Register for the
Webinar at www.clarionlive.com!
This week Jane Fleming will be presenting "Creating Your Installation With
SetupBuilder"! Here is what Jane plans to do:
"What I actually cover will depend on the response to the poll questions.
Possibilities:
Overview of SetupBuilder.
Making a simple setup project.
Creating your folder hierarchy / CSIDL
Overview of the IDE.
What happens when preprocessor script functions versus runtime script
functions
constants, compiler variables, and runtime variables
The default include file, and using it in your scripts
Dialog screens and the Loop Wizard
Using If-Then to customize behavior for files, shortcuts, etc.
Code-signing the installer and the files being installed.
Other items as questions and my ability to answer them dictate.
Definitely - Preview of new features in SetupBuilder 7:
Custom Dialog Editor
SKU wizard for maintaining several products using one script
The "run non-elevated" magic trick"
Additional Information:
Jane Fleming is a college dropout who subsequently lived four years in
Europe, a year and a half in Mexico, and three years in India, and
later taught yoga for a living in California (she's been vegetarian
since 1970 and still stands on her head several times a week).
She developed circuits and wrote assembly code for several embedded
microcontroller projects during the 1980s. She began using Clarion
Professional Developer for in-house projects back when Clarion was
running display ads in InfoWorld and has used it very intermittently
since. She is a former Microsoft Certified Trainer, and taught
Microsoft and Novell network administration at a business college for
four years. She is an MCSE on Windows 2000 and Windows NT4.0, and a
NextGen Certified Professional.
For the past two years, Jane has been working as an electronic health
records developer and consultant for several California practices and
an ambulatory surgery center. She recently developed a Clarion interface
to connect the surgery center's patient monitoring equipment to the
NextGen medical records computer system.
Now widowed twelve years, Jane plays classical piano and has found her
métier as a semi-retired NRA-certified pistol instructor who shoots
IDPA or USPSA handgun matches at least once a month.
