Error 1072: UpdatePROTECT...

Hi Friedrich,

Got a SB7 script from a Build Automator customer that fails every time. It
fails with:

"FMKey.sb7(28): error GEN1072: UpdatePROTECT add-on is required to compile
the script."

This is caused by:

Set Variable %RESULT% to FUNCTION:Verify Subscription Key(ProgramName,
SomeStuff, SomeOtherStuff)

Obviously the actual script has different values in the function call<g>

This compiles without problem in the SB7 IDE, but fails every time when
called from the command line.

Any ideas?

Hi Arnór,

I can't reproduce the problem on any of our machines :-( Our test scripts
for subscription keys compiled fine from the command line.

Would it be possible for you to send me a test .sb7 with fake subscriptin
key values? For example, copy the Line 28 from the FMKey.sb7 into a
test.sb7 and change the values.

Please ignore my previous post. Either too much coffee or not enough! I
tested "Verify Serial Number" and not "Verify Subscription Key".

Fixed in the latest internal SB7 source codes.

Thanks:) My client is also having some other issues with BA+SB7 where the
SB7 compile seems to just stop in the middle of the compile and not come
back. He says it _looks_ like it is around the code signing statements. Is
there any way to put code into the script that gives us a way to see _where_
exactly it is stopping? My idea was that he could put in a #rename
statement to rename a file from 1.txt to 2.txt and 2.txt to 3.txt etc. to
some selected places. Not ideal debugging method<g> but might work;)

Any chance of getting a test build for him to test this to see if that would
also get resolved with the fixt to the UpdatePROTECT problem?

Have you tried using the #msgbox compiler directive scattered through the
script? That could give you an idea how far the compile gets before it
stops.

I have just sent that to my client. We went back and forth a lot yesterday
and I'm not 100% sure what his other problem was.

I like Jane's suggestion very much. Very good idea.

BTW, I noticed that all SetupBuilder subscription notifications sent to you
bounced back during the last few months:

My client went through that and everything worked so he took out the
#msgbox'es and everything still worked. So I'm not sure what the issue is.
