Hi Friedrich

Could the Project, Task Automation, Perform Auto update Scan default to
"Always" for the file replacement options becuase its almost certain that
they would want to install any changes? The default Check File CRC doesnt
always install the latest version.<g>

Cheers

Richard

Just another, it seems the webupdate doesnt like spaces in the name of the
file. For example, my web update sb6 file is called
A1 Web Install.sb6 so I get the resultant
A1 Web Install.exe .00001 etc etc, but webupdate doesnt like the spaces.

It works ok if I remove the spaces though.

If I get a compiler error say
Error Gen1055: File not found or locked <Pathname and Filename>
I only have the Script Logic and Script editor options show in the left hand
pane plus these are disabled so theres no way of getting back to the
different settings in the sb file unless I reload the file. Is this right?

cheers

Richard,

Hmm, not here on my test machines. Seems to be a notification sent to the
IDE is not received.

I checked our records, but we have not received a similar report (up to
now). Can you reproduce this at will?

Thanks,
Friedrich

Richard,

Thank you! I can reproduce this on one XP SP machine. It seems to be
caused by the NOTIFY Clarion command when the "Windows XP Style" (not
Classic Style) is enabled.

Item in review.

Hi Richard,

No <g> Because the "Always" option would make web update worthless <bg>

"Check File CRC" is the magic feature for all web updates. It only updates
what is required! For example, Joe User is already on Version 2.1 and your
new Version 2.2 only updates 2 files. Let us assume, the update from
Version 2.1 to 2.2 included 100 files. So in this case, the web update for
Joe User will only download and update 2 files!!!! But if a user with
Version 2.0 uses the same web update, all 100 files are downloaded and
updated.

Using "Always" would mean that Joe User also had to download and update 100
files!

Does this help :)

Friedrich

Hi Friedrich

Ok <vbg> I found why the CRC isnt working, the base install was looking at
an old location for the source files.
