View Full Version : Path too long?

One of my installation programs uses this path:
http://www.rclsoftware.com/sunday-school-administrator-desc.htm on the
certificate page.
Each time I compiled it there would be a warning displayed that the
certificate was not included.
I could not see any error so I changed it to
http://www.rclsoftware.com/index.htm
No error this time.
There must be a limit on the length of that field...
Thought you might want to know. If I am wrong let me know because I would
rather use the longer path.

Bob,
IMHO - you are better off to use the base URL for the company website.
That will never change.
Down the road - you may change the convention for page names below that
level, which would break the other URL.
As an example, all of our software is signed with a certificate for
www.lansrad.com and that is all we use in the path.
The idea is that you just want the user to know that the software (whatever
the name of it) came from the company that provided it.
Sometimes "Less is more"

Where you able to compile with this path?
If so, weird.

Bob,
Yes, I have tested this on three machines (200, XP and Vista).
