View Full Version : Vista manifest problem

On the opening userid/password window on our Clarion 5.5 app, we have a
checkbox asking if the userid/password should be saved.

If the Vista manifest is added in the install, AND the operating system is
XP AND xpthemes are used, the checkbox is black and unreadable. Under vista
and XP with classic windows, the check box is fine.

Any ideas? Is the vista manifest added to the app when the install is
built, or when the install is run on the client pc? Can I check the users
os and not add the vista manifest?

Thanks

Skip,

The Vista manifest is embedded at compile time yon your machine, not at run
time.

ArnĂ³r has an interesting article at:
http://www.icetips.com/newsletter.php?ShowNewsLetter=1&NewsLetterID=5

See Technical Corner section.

The same is true for Vista-aware manifests. This is not a SetupBuilder 6
issue, btw.

Does this help?

Skip,

I had to turn OFF the Vista manifest because of the same pb here

SB had preconized to disable the XP manifest in Clarion app's and add the SB
Vista minifest - I tried it but same pb

So I enabled again in the app the Clarion XO manifest and disabled the SB
one ....

It seems to come from a pb with the PowerXPTheme template .... not sure but
I presume ...

Soon (trademarked) we should be able to remove this template and see what
comes out .... BUT I'll definitely keep their other templates PowerToolbar
and XPTaskpanel as they are far more performning even than what I saw from
Clarion7 way of menus (on clarionmag article)
