I've finally made the move to order the much lauded SetupBuilder, and I'm looking forward to moving all of my installations out of an older version of Wise InstallBuilder. I haven't had a chance to dive into the documentation yet, but I've got a few quick questions that are burning to be asked:
Is there some type of conversion facility to get all of the file lists out of my existing WSE scripts into SetupBuilder? The key thing here is the file(mask) lists (source and destination). I could probably use a keyboard macro to reformat the entries, but there's no sense in reinventing the wheel.
Many of my WSE scripts were nested, because my Super Templates shared much information (e.g. "Welcome" dialogs, contact info, shared source files, etc.). Elements which were shared were stored in a separate WSE file that was included in the master install scripts for each of the products. Does SetupBuilder have equivalent functionality?
As most of you probably know, I'm one of the main Clarion 3rd-party vendors. Up until now I didn't adhere to the "Clarion\3rdParty" standard way of doing things, but I'm ready to take the plunge. Is there a SetupBuilder script to handle any of those standards?
BTW, I'm not looking for extreme hand-holding here, but rather a few quick pointers before I dive into the pool. Thanks in advance!
