How does SB detect Clarion

Hi Friedrich

How does SB detect if Clarion is installed and what version is installed?

I've tried copying all the reg settings from my one of my Clarion 6 VM's and
put them into my Devtool VM where SB and other misc dev tools reside (like
Camtasia, Help & Manual etc etc) and I've copied the Clarion6\bin folder
into this dev tool vm but I still cant fool SB into believing I have Clarion
6 installed?

Reason I ask is I've got multiple VMs' for different Clarion 6
configurations for different programs I maintain. Now I'm trying to install
Charles' SoftDefence onto the Devtools VM so that SD can hook up with SB but
I cant fool the installer.

I've asked Charles, tried his suggestion and the above stuff but no joy,
hence why I'm asking you.<g>

There are some entries in the registry but for earlier versions like
C6 I believe it relies on the WIN.INI file.

Win.ini.

I always install from CD, then run the C6VistaFix and then copy things over.

The win.ini is used to detect Clarion Editions.

If you are using Clarion on an UAC-aware operating system, you can run the
"Vista fix" to make the appropriate settings.
