Hi Friedrich,

When I am compiling a new install.. I get the time it took to compile.
However, what I really need is the time it takes to upload to my site when
setupbuilder uploads the install (my update install anyway)... then I would
know about how long most users will take to download the install (and my
upload is much slower than my download.. so everyone will be happy when it's
faster :)

Also, Where is a place I can edit to add at least a generic message about
what this new update is all about for my update install? I would like to let
them know BEFORE they choose to update how long the update will take and
what it is. Of course when I'm doing a silent update I don't need that...
they get the update whether they like it or not.

Thanks,

No problem. We can add this to the compiler.

You have many different options. You can add a standard or custom dialog to
display all this information.

Similar to what Charles is doing here:

I'm trying to get the dialog where it checks for an update.. before it
downloads the update install... I assume that is in Wupdate and wucheck?
That's where I want to show what is in the upgrade.. maybe pull it from a
file online somewhere?

Ray,

Bear in mind that wucheck and wupdate are complete customizable.
The source files (SB7 scripts) are in your program
files\setupbuilderxx\Redist\1033 folder.

Obviously, if you make changes you'll want to do so to copies of the scipt,
and to code-sign the custom wucheck and/or wupdate.exe that you generate.

Ray,

That is what SetupCast does automatically and it includes a enhanced web
update client that is build using Friedrich's web update client as a base.

You publish the content that SetupBuilder will use automatically when
SetupCast does the upload.

Then the enhanced web update client pulls down the file and displays it
BEFORE the user decides to actually download and install the update.

Just as is shown here:
