Got a customer who has tried downloading an installation from my website and
on all their machines (a combination of W2k and XP machines) they keep
getting crashes when the try to install the program.
Its only a a teamviewer exe (remote access program) which is bundled up into
a SB7 installation so its installed properly with shortcuts so does anyone
mind trying to install it on a XP or W2k machine?
Link is http://www.intelligentsilicon.com/support.exe
Its all code signed but it just crashs when it tries to install the actual
file after they have clicked next a couple of times. Thing is it works fine
here on my machine and vmware machines on various OS's so bit lost as to
what else it could be. I have installer integrity switched on and no
problems are reported when it checks the integrity.
TIA
Cheers
Richard

I have tested your installer on eight different Windows machines here
without any problem.
Ask him to start the support.exe with the /E event logging command line
switch. Then ask him to send you c:\sbevents.txt and forward it to me.
Perhaps I can see what is going on.

I'll give that a go.

Update: I think the "Add Firewall Exception" function in your script causes
it.
Please recompile your project with SB71 (pre-release)

FIX : [SB#911261] Installer: Possible installer stack corruption when
using the "Windows Firewall Exception" script function on a
Windows operating system that does not support the Windows
Firewall.

Hi Friedrich
The 7.1 release fixed that problem, it was the firewall issue. <g>
