I just installed SetupBuilder 7.0.2762 because I heard that in version 7 it was possible to import .msm files into the installation package. Is this available at this point, I am unable to find anything about it in the help files? If its not available do you have an expected date or version when this feature would become available. We have several programs that all use the same component. We would like set the installation of this shared component in the msm so that all programs can install this shared component the same way.

Thank you for any help in this matter.

Hello,

No, SB7 does not support .msm conversion yet. Taken from the manual:

What is Planned for Future Versions

MSM Merge Module Import (Developer Edition). Convert standard Windows Installer Merge Modules (.msm) into native Windows Installer runtime installer for SetupBuilder.

BTW, the latest SB71 "pre-release" (final version will be available next week) already makes use of our MSI compiler technology and provides "exe2msi" functionality. We'll use the same compiler to power the msm2msi feature.

Does this help?
