View Full Version : Can't write loader data stream

Hello,
One of our clients is attempting to install with our new installation built
using SetupBuilder 7, and getting the attached error. Even after disabling
the firewalls and anti-virus software, we still get the same error. The SB7
help basically gives me the same information and suggestion as is listed on
the error (I suppose that's a good thing). This installation works well on
every other client installation I've worked on.
Help!
Regards,
Flint

Unfortunately, there is absolutely nothing you or we can do. It's exactly
what the error message says. The data streams can't be unpacked to the
temporary Windows folder -- so "something" on his machine locks this
process. It's completely out of your or our control.

BTW, if the user downloaded the file, make sure that he did receive a
complete package and does not have a corrupt installer (caused by a download
transmission issue). I assume you have code-signed the installer, so he can
verify the signature by doing this:
1. Right click the setup
2. Select "Properties"
3. Select the "Digital Signatures" tab
4. In the Signature list, select your company and press the "Details" button
If "This digital signature is OK" is reported, then he has a complete
package.

I have begun as 'Default' to add Check Integrity - It makes a lot less
support.

Thanks, Friedrich!
I would have just as soon had him wipe and start over ... but that's my
knee-jerk reaction to everything, so your suggestions are much better.
