Windows 7 Logo Certification

Don't know if anyone has attempted Logo cert yet... it isn't fun.
I have an issue I'd like some help with.

Uninst_MyProg.exe doesn't delete itself, and doesn't delete the installation
folder (I assume, because the uninstaller is still there).

Is there some trick to getting that to happen?

The Win7 Software Logo Toolkit does some very wired things. We already
reported this to Microsoft seven or eight months ago, but I don't think that
they will ever fix it. The Toolkit "blocks" the self-removal function in
the uninstall and as a result, the uninstall can't remove itself. The
following warning is reported: "File '<uninstall.exe>' from program
'<folder>' was not deleted."

BTW, do *NOT* add a Shortcut to your Uninstall application. Are you doing
this? If yes, then the following will happen: during the scanning process,
the Win7 Software Logo Toolkit will launch your Uninstall in your Admin and
the Standard User accounts. At the end of the test, when the toolkit asks
you to uninstall your application, the uninstall is still active in the
Standard User account and so it can't delete itself.

As an example, you'll see this (screenshot) for the SB7 install if there is
*no* Shortcut to the uninstall.

One requirement of the previous Logo programs was "Do not place shortcuts to
remove the application in the Start menu.". You should still follow this
rule if you are doing a Win7 Logo Test.

FWIW... another issue with the Windows 7 Logo Test Kit...

During the test to close your application from windows shutdown, you may get
"missing DLL" error messages if your installed app is multi-dll. This will
result in a "Pass with Warning" for this test in the XML report.

From Microsoft:
"Based on the feedback from the dev team, this can be a behavior from the
Toolkit while launching the executables to perform the restart manager test.
So, you can ignore this failure. Just in case you want to avoid this, you
may try copying the DLL into same folder as wslkui.exe
(%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Windows Software Logo Kit)."

So, basically, the wonderful world of Microsoft is buggy. <g>
