OK I've read all about choosing where you put your common data in Vista.
The consensus seems to be COMMON_DOCUMENTS (CD) as opposed to COMMON_APPDATA
(CA).
At one point I chose CA. Now my app will only run in Vista as
Administrator. There appear to be Permission issues.
Should it or can it run using CA or must I change it back to CD?
BTW thank you Friedrich, Jane and others for all the help!

Hi Lynn,
On a single user setup (no shared data) if the program is the only entity
that needs access to the data, then CA should be fine.
If your users need to access files outside of the app, then CD would be a
better bet.
As an example, in my new PageSnip program, the stored content belongs to
the program and is under strict program control - so it is in a folder
under CA.
But if a user is creating/saving PDFs or exporting content from the system
to use elsewhere, it goes into a folder under CD.
Having fun with Vista yet?
;-)
