View Full Version : Setect Install Type-VISTA (253kb attach)

I want to allow the user the option to place pgms & data in
the same folder structure, if they are running pre-VISTA
with a single Select.Install.Folder dialog.
I have an Install.Type "Pre-VISTA" which installs Feature
"Pre-VISTA" which puts the data in the pgm folder structure
If Install.Type "VISTA" is selected, there will be a
Select.Install.Folder dialog for pgms and one for data.
The attachment shows the script.
The install always falls into the
If Feature "VISTA" not selected routine
I've tried with a
If %_SB_INSTALLTYPE% not equal "VISTA"
and I get the same thing
I'm not testing for VISTA, the separation of data and pgms
will be available to all.
Thanks
Guy

Guy,
Where are you setting the value for %_SB_INSTALLTYPE% ?
In the Features1.sb6 example, the %_SB_SETUPTYPEID% is set by the Setup Type
chosen. Then he uses
If Feature "Test Feature 2" selected then
do something
end
Have you played with that example? Maybe you should be configuring Setup
Types rather than Features.

Hi Jane -
I call a Select Setup.Types(Standard) dialog which shows the
two options. I assumed, dangerous as I know that is, that
when I selected the VISTA type it would set Feature.VISTA
selected.
I don't have anything the Examples folders, where are they
located?
Thanks
Guy

Jane, you are a priceless gem!
Thanks!
I downloaded the example projects, looked at the Features1
and I am now off and running.
I knew it had to be dumb, the hard ones always are.
Thanks again

I think I should throw an "atta boy" to Friedrich too, he's
the guy that built the stage for us to dance on.
Thanks Friedrich!

I echo that as well - there are plenty of VERY helpful developers who hang
out, but Jane and Charles Edmonds are definitely among the TOP THREE who
consistently provide unselfish help again and again!

After I left England (tour of Air Force duty 1973 - 1975) in 1975, well, it
has NEVER been the same for me!
