View Full Version : Install waits

I am finally getting around to creating a new install. When I run it the
the app minimizes for a substantial time before displaying the install
display screen (capture.jpg) and then finally the install screen displays
(capture1.jpg)
Even saving a previous sb7 which works to a new template gives the same
result.
Any idea what would cause this.

I have never heard of this before. What happens if you run our SB7 install
image on this machine? Same result?

Very strange indeed. Loaded the current install which does not encounter
this, used 'save as' to another name, compiled and when run it immediately
minimizes to the task bar and there it will sit for maybe 5 minutes until
finally the screen will display. Can not close it or maximize off the task
bar.
Used the wizard to create a test install - same result.
Win Vista 32 bit machine. I am wondering if maybe MS Security Essentials
app is causing this. Going to unload it and see what happens.

Yea, it appears that the new 7.2 Build 3062 solved the problem.
My maintenance agreement is coming due the 1st of September so after I
complete that I think I will do a complete reinstall of SB7 to ensure
everything is clean.
Thanks for all the help you provide.

Of course, you'll be able to install this 7.2 Build 3062 even after your
maintenance and support subscription expires and if you decide not to renew
it. So there is no need to do a complete reinstall before the 1st of
September. Just download the full #3062 install image and you are safe.
The only thing that does not work after the subscription expires is the free
update and support service. The SetupBuilder license itself will never
expire.

How long I been using SB :) I always keep the maintenance agreement up to
date. If one thinks about it, an install application is the first thing a
customer sees and how it performs sets a perception of the program that
follows.
SB gives this little app a very professional start.
