I have for some time used one server for updates to my program using
VUUPDATE.EXE, and a code snippetr from Arnor of Icetips fame.
For some good reasons, I want to change to another server with an
completely other IP adress.
The existing server will still be there - Its overloaded, and thats
one of the resons for moving.
I have app. 200 running programs, pointing at the 'Old' server.

I can - For some time use both, but whats the best strategy for doing
this change?

Best regards

What you can do is the following: provide one more web update from that
"old" server and change the web update configuration. The web update
configuration is (by default) stored in the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Lindersoft\WebUpdate\A pps\{GUID}

Update the following values:

HOST_ADDRESS = "New" server address
HOST_DIRECTORY = "New" directory

Don't forget to also change this in your next web update project (that is
powered by your "new" server).

BTW, of course, you can also make a stand-alone update.exe available to
change the above values.

Does this help?
