My old pc gave out and I installed a backup of Web Builder on my production
pc. The program builds a exe but I get a trial version message when running
the exe.

Can anyone help?

Hmm, I assume you mean "SetupBuilder" and not "Web Builder"?

If you get a trial version message, then you have installed an evaluation
version. You have to use the full install image to install the licensed
version of SetupBuilder.

Does this help?

Friedrich,

No - did not do a normal install.

I had backed up both SetupBilder 4 Standard & SetupBuilder 4 Web from my
old computer to a external USB drive. I copied them to my new system under
the Program Files directory. I then created a Icon to SBUILDER.EXE in the
SetupBuilder 4 Web directory.

XP Pro for both old and new computer.

Both versions were purchased. I also purchased SetBuilder 6 twice but both
versions expired before using.

Hope you can help.

Aha, okay. I had not idea that SetupBuilder 4 is still in use today <g>
Please note that SB4 is not UAC-aware nor Vista or Windows 7 (or Server 7)
compliant. It's very dangerous to use it on modern operating systems! SB4
reached end-of-live status in September 2005.

But to use SB4, you have to do a full install (which creates the required
registry entries, including unlock information). You can't simply copy the
system over to the new machine. What you can also try is to export the
SetupBuilder registry key to a .reg file and then import it on your new
machine.

BTW, we sent the old SB4 registration codes to you one minute ago (not sure
if you still have it). The download link for SB4 is not available any
longer, so you have to use your original SB4 install image.
