This usually means that your internet connection timed out getting to the
time server. Probably will work if you try again.

Yes, and/or the firewall or another "protection" software product decided to
temporarily block access from the MS Authenticode tool to the timestamp
server.

Dan,

One thing that worked for me is to simply switch to the other timestamp server.
I've never had both fail. Now that I think about it, I think that is the only
time I switch <g>.

Seems www.timestamp.comodoca.com times pings just fine.
Something else is rotten in Denmark.

Switched to alt time server
Then remove any time server and it still errors out
