This is the message you get when trying to run the Clarion8 installer on
Windows 8 preview.

How do I get around this?

If Guy Kawasaki, the staff of the Wall Street Journal,
Fast Company, Marketing Profs & Business Week read it,
maybe you should too.

I had to unset and reset a compatibility setting of Windows 7. Not sure
why, but its running now.

Because you run it in Win7 mode on Win8 now and so you bypass the defined
"Target Operation System" :)

I think SoftVelocity set the required operating systems for the Clarion 8.0
install and "Windows 8" is not on the "Target Operation System" list <g>

So what you can try is to set the compatibility mode for the install to
Windows 7 and see if Win8 allows it.

I had done that but it didnt work the first time. When I turned off off
(the compat setting) and back on, it worked. No idea why.

Ray,

OK, I miss my Atari 1040ST (Macintosh Plus clone - 68000 processor) -
however I started it up recently - and it could NOT run Apple's OS X Lion
or even in emulation mode - run Windows 7 (guess this means Windows 8 as
well! :-D).

So, we still have our memories! :-D
