Friedrich,
Congratulations! Very good! With such a HIGHLY competitive product!
"buy code signing certificate"
Now work on this phrase:
"code signing certificate"
That would be my first entry, as I suppose a significant number of others
wouldn't use "buy" in the phrase initially for most products or services.

Thank you :)
This SEO stuff is a never-ending learning experience. Very interesting. I
monitor the server log on a daily basis and noticed that our Comodo
information and order pages are hammered hard.
The following keywords where used:
1) where+to+buy+code+signing+certificate
2) buy+code+signing+certificate
3) comodo+code+signing
4) code+signing+certificate
Certificates are not a money-making thing for us - it's a value-added
service for our customers. But I am always open for suggestions to improve
the SEO quality of our site :) "If Google cannot find you...you probably do
not exist" <g>
We have a top ranking in Google for "software installations" (#3) and for
"installation systems" (#10). But "software installation" is only #14
(means page #2) in Google - not so good. The search result for
"installation authoring" is suboptimal. It finds SetupBuilder (#10), but
only on a download site. Better than nothing, but still working on this
one...

Friedrich,
Here is one recommendation I would suggest - if nothing else, to make sure
none of your competitors show up anywhere on your web site except in a
comparison chart where you show a clear advantage.

Friedrich,
I know you and Charles have worked closely on a number of projects - I just
hope when word gets out about his Google Ad snipping, that Google doesn't
come after YOUR pagerank! :-D
Nice screenshot - you just might do it without PageSnip in the future,
though!

I recommend that you also monitor your presence in newsgroups (other than
Clarion) using Google Groups. I recently spent the best part of a month
evaluating installation systems and must have done a few Google searches in
that period but SetupBuilder did not appear on my radar at all. Eventually
I tripped over this message in the
borland.public.delphi.thirdpartytools.general newsgroup:
"Has anyone used SetupBuilder by LinderSoft (www.lindersoft.com)? Any
comments."
None of the respondents mentioned your product but the link was sufficient
for me to start investigating and I eventually bought a copy.

Thank you for your suggestion. And I agree 100%.
About 70% of our customers are already non-Clarion developers. Our strategy
is to "not grow too fast" <g>. We see an unprecedented peak in business due
to the release of Vista and the upcoming Windows Server 2008. Things have
gone through the roof.
Our plan for next year (2008) is to monitor our presence in other
newsgroups.
Thanks again, Chris!

I had not heard of Clarion before SetupBuilder. I have been using VC++
for so long I forgot other development systems exist!

Interesting! :)
The SetupBuilder project would not have been possible without Clarion and
the Clarion Community. SetupBuilder 1.x (1997), 2.x (1998) and 3.x (1999)
was an "installation system" developed exclusively for Clarion. About 97%
of all users were Clarion developers. This changed when we released
SetupBuilder 4.0 in December 2001. More and more non-Clarion developers
came on board. About 25% of all SetupBuilder 4.x users were non-Clarion
developers.
At this point, InstallShield came into the picture. SetupBuilder 4 already
caused some major headaches because it was taking away customers from the
"Big Boys" at neck breaking speed. They tried to take over the SetupBuilder
product line and to hire its development team. But I decided to continue
developing and improving SetupBuilder on our own. The SetupBuilder user
base continued to increase rapidly. In any engineering project, be it a
Boeing 747 or a software product, there comes a point where it becomes
worthwhile to take a step back, look at what works, what doesn't work,
dispense with the baggage, and come up with a ground-up new design. Four
years later, in August 2005, we released SetupBuilder 5.0. The rest is
history <g>. 70% of all SetupBuilder users are non-Clarion (Visual Studio
Win32/Win64/.NET, Delphi, Borland, etc.) developers. SetupBuilder 7.0
(scheduled for 2008) is in development, SetupBuilder 8.0 (scheduled for
2009) is on the drawing board.
The SetupBuilder 6 IDE, compiler, linker and debugger tools ("core systems")
are developed with SoftVelocity Clarion 6.3.
The installer engine is developed using Microsoft Visual Studio 2002, 2003
and VS2005 (C, C++ and C#) 32-bit and 64-bit compilers. Compression is
powered by Lindersoft LSPack 6.5 Compression Library (VS2005). Binary
Patching is powered by Lindersoft LSPatch 6.5 Patching Library (VS2003).
Internet-based installation and updating technology is powered by Lindersoft
iDeploy (VS2002).
We'll switch to Clarion 7 when available. This will give us access to cool
new features (e.g. UI Enhancements). We already have an internal
SetupBuilder version compiled with Clarion 7 (alpha) available and it works
rock solid.
BTW, the Clarion installation images are also powered by SetupBuilder.

Coincidentally, another thread titled 'Good Installer' was started in the
'borland.public.delphi.non-technical' newgroup a couple of days ago so I
took the opportunity to recommend your product. I hope the ensuing rush of
new customers doesn't interfere with your plan of 'not growing too fast' <g>

It turned out that quite a few users have read that 'Good Installer' thread
and contacted our Sales Dept. We'll monitor the newsgroups now :)
Thanks again!
