Would you please tell me the SB7 way to slice a portion of a string to
a new variable?
Also, you have %CURRDIR%. Is there a built-in variable containing the
current drive letter?
An answer to either of those will get me where I'm going<g>
Thanks.

See "Handle String Operation" in the Script Functions on the right.

Thanks Mike.
I think of every verb I can think of, and I'm wrong every time<g>

Exactly what Mike said :)
You can use "Handle String Operation (Extract Drive Letter)" to retrieve the
drive letter (including the ':').

I spend a lot of time scanning that list. <g>

Yep. But it's a nice list. :)
If there was a search that just had some important key words in it,
then that would be awesome.
I mean, like the drive letter thing. You'd have to have the right key
words to land at the right place.
That would make everything go a million times faster for me. Maybe a
billlion times.<g>
