And what about those of us that don't subscribe to Facebook because of its abysmal record of
protecting it's members privacy? How about a Google+ page?

Good point. In fact, this is our first social media "experiment".

The Google+ page is here:

Or see the new buttons in the "CONTACT LINDERSOFT" box:

I have no intention of giving Google access to MORE information about me!
They already know what I search for, what I sell, how I advertise, what I've
purchased, what I write about, where I am at any given moment, where I'm
going, where I've been... Enough is enough!<g>

I've been on FB for about 3 years and never had issues with privacy.

Best regards,

Same with me.

I actually trust FB far more than Google. Google is evil.

Last week I received a Google $75 AdWords coupon (for "Linder Software").
No problem, but they sent it to an address that can't be found on the
Internet. And no, I did not use my cell phone number to verify my Google
account nor did I store any other private data with them. That made me a
bit nervous... <g>

I think they have some very dangerous "spy tools" in place <g>

I'm not particularly paranoid about it, but if you stop and think about the
information that Google has assembled through the years... Now they are
adding Google Wallet (http://www.google.com/wallet/) so you can pay with
your phone. Now they will know about everything you buy, where you buy it,
how often and who knows what. I guess when you have tens of billions of
dollars sitting idle in your bank account you need to find some ways to use
it;) I don't have that problem<g>

Yup... because I have an Android, and I advertise on Google, and I have a
Xoom, and my house can be seen on Google Earth, and I have Google checkout
on my website... they know alot... but, really, do they care? I'm just a
face in a huge crowd. IMHO the only privacy available is anonimity,
especially if you want to use all the cool stuff out there.

When I want off the grid I get on my ATV and go a few miles into the
mountains.

Google knows every site that we ever visit from my house. We use their
DNS on my router. I use their Gmail, calendar, and docs.

I guess we all pick our poison, and sooner or later all of us will be
screwed somehow by someone or another.

If If Apple were to buy Google, Amazon, and my bank, that would pretty
much be my life's story<g>.

If anyone really thinks they have privacy (and anonymity), then
they're dreaming. Every site you visit knows something new. Every DNS
that you use knows where you went. Every search that you made gets
logged. Every naked lady that you looked at. And someone is
aggregating it for presentation to someone in the marble towers
somewhere.
