We use a lot of shared .dll files between applications. I've just
tested my install on Win98SE and forgot I had one of our other
applications running. SB5 correctly told me I must restart my computer
at the end of the install as it needs to over-write a used .DLL.

So far so good, but pressing OK did not restart the machine.

Not a major issue in itself, but having restarted the computer manually,
it did not replace the in-use file! The old one is still there.

This is with 1055.

Simon,

Is this a "long file name" .dll?

Thanks,
Friedrich

Simon,

Thank you! The Windows 9x in-use replacement mechanism does not support
long file names. Perhaps there is a problem with the long name to short
name conversion process. Item in review.

Thanks,
Friedrich
