Hi Friedrich,

I can get neither backgrounds (bitmaps) or billboards to work. I have
no clue how to add the billboards, or arrange them or whatever. They
never showed up and neither did the background image...

Hi Arnór,

Billboards are not supported yet.

Did you check the "Display Bitmap" checkbox (Bitmap Properties dialog)?

Thanks,
Friedrich

Hi Friedrich,

>Billboards are not supported yet.

Ok, that would explain it<g>

>Did you check the "Display Bitmap" checkbox (Bitmap Properties dialog)?

Yes I did. Still didn't show up.

Also: The compiler states that only 256 color bmps are supported.
Why is that? For most of my installs my guess is that 99% of the
audience is at 24bit color resolution. I used 24bit bmps in SB4
without any problems even though it complained about it. It seems to
me that it would be easier to build something into SB to reduce the
colors to 256 if needed than to require all bmps to be 256 color.

Friedrich,
Bitmap and fonts have been working for me since your fixes a few updates
ago. But reading Arnor's post, I thought I'd check whether there'd been a
regression of some kind...
Create a new project. (1058 developer)
Give it a header, subheader, footer, and static bitmap.
Compiles and runs fine.
Now change the font for the header to Arial Bold, leave everything else the
same, and recompile.
Header shows, there's a tiny black zero beneath it (what's become of the
subheader?) and no footer.
Change the header font back, and it still shows the tiny black zero and no
footer.
Don't know whether this is related to Arnor's problem.

Argh...
That's what I get for reading oldest to newest on this NG. <g>
Appears fixed in 1062 :)

Yes, I ran into this with 1058. Friedrich compiled two new builds of
one of the SBKERNEL.LIB and it took care of it. However I did not get
the background bitmap to work. I was also using background text
(header, subheader and footer) which worked fine with background image
in SB4.
