View Full Version : Digital River (eSellerate) domain problem?
NewsArchive

All,
Not sure what is going on. The eSellerate.net domain has "Pending Renewal
or Deletion" status but is valid until 17-MAR-2014.
One customer (located in Norway) reported that he is redirected to another
site now. I do not see this in our office and orders are coming through.
But I see the same fake page from my iPhone.
What do you see when you click the following SetupBuilder renewal link? Do
you see the eSellerate order page?
http://store.esellerate.net/s.asp?s=STR9044399608&Cmd=BUY&SKURefnum=SKU53452701799
Thank you for your help.
Update: the customer told me one minute ago that microsoftstore.com and
digitalriver.com does also not work. So I think someone hacked Network
Solutions????

Already 18 emails from customers around the world. They can't connect our

Still works okay from my company office, but Andrea sees fake pages from our

Thanks for the info, Jeff!!!
From my office it never failed. Via my 3G and 4G Internet it works fine
here again (redirected to the fake sites a few hours ago). But from my
house, it still connects to the fake page (Andrea tested it one minute ago).
Strange thing is that ping resolves to 208.91.197.132 (which is
digitalriver.com) but opens the fake site.
I think the DNS servers are still busy updating. But all this is not good.

Digital River is in the British Virgin Islands?
I have a feeling some folks are seeing cached pages. I can't get to

eSellerate is still not accessible from my house. Andrea did a "Refresh"

More information: This morning, Digital River experienced a DNS issue that
impacted some users of various services. The core issue has been resolved by
Digital River, but the fix may require up to two hours to propagate from the
time it was implemented. DR anticipate that fewer and fewer users will be
affected over the course of the next two hours or so, with all service
completely restored by the end of that period (or sooner). During this time,
individual user experiences may vary depending on the ISPs through which
they connect to the various Digital River sites. Many or most users are
seeing full functionality restored by now, but some users may continue to be
impacted temporarily during the propagation of the fix.

Hi David,

Oh boy, and I told my customer who reported it that he has a virus on his
system. But he had the same problem on all devices. He contacted his ISP
and they said that it's definitely a Digital River problem. I then told him
that his ISP must be joking (DR is a multi-billion dollar company) and it is
definitely caused by his system (or his ISP). I was sooooooo very wrong.
Never thought that this could happen.
I was told that "Digital River experienced a DNS issue that impacted some
users of various services." I bet that the FBI is on it. IMO, someone
hacked Network Solutions, similar to the Name.com hack last week. BTW,
there is no "Pending Renewal or Deletion" status any longer.

It still does not work from my house. DR told us that the core issue with
DNS problems has apparently not been completely resolved, after all. It
sounds like it's taking a bit longer than expected for the changes to
propagate throughout the Internet, and some customers may still be affected.
