All WebTrust agencies have very strict identity verification rules now
(after VeriSign issued a certificate to Mikey Mouse some time ago <g>).

It's not only Comodo but *ALL* Windows Root Certificate Program members.
Microsoft defined "the rules".

The BBB is little more than a mafia protection racket.

BTW, our own certificate is due to expire in September, so we have to
reapply for a new cert soon. We'll also have to go through the new
"identity verification" process. Fingers crossed that it will work out
well.

My situation is I have never belonged to any of those groups. Comodo seems
to be working with me for the moment though.

Just venting my impatience. <G>

BTW I always thought Mickey Mouse was real. <G>

Hi Lynn,

> Just venting my impatience. <G>

Dealing with Comodo is an exercise in patience! I met a guy last year who
works for them and based on what he said there is no organization and nobody
really knows what the heck they are doing. They do collect money, which
seems to be the primary goal of those certification companies. Based on
what I've heard they are far from the worst in this "business"

Best regards,

Hi Arnor,

They remind my of a crazy uncle at a family reunion. You see him every
three years. There's nothing you can do to change him so you just humor him
knowing it'll be three more years before you see him again. <BG>

Thanks for the moral support!

Lynn

that means, we as a german company have to be listed in some US-databases?

Why don't they ask the NSA about us?
