All,

Windows 8.1 Core and Pro (RTM) editions now available on MSDN and TechNet.
Enterprise versions of Windows 8.1 are expected to be made available on the
subscription services by the end of September. Please note that RTM is not
really "final" anymore. Microsoft is still working on its built-in Windows
8.1 apps, and several bugs it wants to address before the October 18th
release (installed via Windows update).

Hi Friedrich,

Thanks for the heads up! Been busy myself in the video tutorial creating
world! Addictive! So while I downloaded W81 preview - didn't install it,
then your message about 9-9-2013 release.

So far - W81 x64 (moving target) RTM :-) working well! Booting up into the
DESKTOP! Hover over Taskbar, right click - properties - navigation tab! -
couldn't find that in any w81 help, tried to look in w81 obvious places -

But for now my host OS will remain Win7/64.

Lee,

Win7/64 host IS a good choice! At least I can snag decent screen shots of
Product Scope.

BUT, booting up into Desktop is a plus! They even have an option to

"Show my desktop background on Start"!

Kind of strange look after using Logos key to toggle between Start (solid
color background) and Desktop (I always download a theme) previously! :-)

To all, has anyone else noticed this W81 (9-9-2013 release) bug?

If working with a mouse - non touch screen - and you touch the top, or left
or right or bottom of screen with mouse - A switch between apps window
appears, and WON'T disappear until this PC Settings switch is OFF.

PC Settings - PC and devices - Corners and edges - Allow switching between
recent app - Off!

Just a follow up comment - mouse touch top, right, left, or bottom of
screen at Start window - Switch between apps window does NOT appear,
however at desktop, it will, Bing weather app, it will.

Another, simplier answer to this problem and doesn't require Allow
switching between recent apps to be Off -

So far in my testing it works, but consider the frustration of many who
encounter the Switch between apps window, haven't seen any answers for the
"solution", and since the window remains fixed through any W81 window, it
effectively blocks useful information.

I did restart W81 and so far, with this simple solution before reboot,
window has not re-appeared.
