View Full Version : Clarion detection in SB

Hi Friedrich,
From time to time I get emails from customers stating that Clarion 7, 8
or 9 doesn't show up in my installs when they should. Had one customer
contact me yesterday telling me that C9 doesn't show up in his install
and if I could give him a C9 compatible install. I tested that install
and sure enough it did support C9. I suggested that he could try to
install Clarion 9 again.
It's difficult to say how frequent this is, but I would guess it could
be somewhere between 1-3%
Do you have any idea why Cx sometimes fails to show up?
Best regards,

Yes. These guys have a "damaged" Cx environment (because they "moved" Cx to
another machine or folder after the installation). As a result, the product
is not correctly registered with Windows. They think they know what they
are doing but the don't :)
For C9, they can use "C9 Manager" to see the status of the environment:

I am sure that I have not "damaged" Cx environment - installed from scratch
and it works as usual, SB8 install detects it as well. BTW your "C9 Manager"
shows FAILED for c9 (look at attached image)- what does it mean???

You definitely HAVE a damaged environment.
"C9 Manager" says FAILED for Clarion 9 if you do not have C9 Gold installed
;-) What build do you have installed?
And your VC2008 redistributable is also not okay.

BTW, your C9 pre-release #10332 is outdated (that's why you see the correct
"FAILED!" status in C9 Manager). Install C9 Gold (#10376).
And you have to find a way to solve your VC++2008 issue.
