How soon can I renew so I don't have any lapse?

Hi Dan!

OK, this is my best guess! Let's say you have a three year certificate now,
and you have roughly 6 months remaining on it.

Send in your money NOW - they'll be glad to accept all the money you send!
:-) There is NO renewal - each time you apply for a new certificate
(however, you might have an account with them previously, and that's a good
start for saving time) - !

OK, lapse, yes some have problems, and it might take up to a week (or
more), but generally speaking, based upon others, very little time to
approve and get a new certificate - Friedrich's signup page gives most of
the details you need to know.

http://www.lindersoft.com/order_codesigning.htm

Encourager Software, my company, received it in less than 24 hours on last
order. But I know my company requirements, scan them, and upon ordering,
immediately put in a support request (haven't received it yet) and attach
scanned documents. Had a slight hitch with business telephone number, took
the advice here for a small business - still revolved in less than a day.

Maybe someone knows something different to what I have said - so unless you
expect Comodo to force Friedrich to up the special program price he offers,
waiting until close to expiration time - let's say two weeks before expire
time to give yourself some processing time - you'll save by not ordering a
new certificate now!

Cheers,
David

Considering the "average age of a Clarion developer" - GOOD Advice! :-)

Hi Dan,

OK, after listening to "Friedrich's Woes" I am changing my "let's say two
weeks before expire time to give yourself some processing time" advice to

"THREE Weeks" - Possibly FOUR weeks to feel even more comfortable! :-)

Cheers!

Based upon my experience, I would never use less than a month.

Sometimes its easy.
Sometimes its extremly difficult.

I have taken a 3 years last time, and setup a warning 3 months before
'Last day'

I agree. I would never order an one year certificate. You don't want to go
through all this each year. A three years certificate is the way to go.

Our last certificate was due to expire on September 6, 2013. I requested a
new one on August 15, 2013 (22 days before the final expiration date). IMO,
3-4 weeks should be enough.

BTW, the SetupBuilder compiler displays the code signing expiration date in
the compiler window. If the expiration date is < 45 days, it gives a
compiler "warning".

Which indeed is a very, very fine touch
