Just came across an interesting article. It mentions Lindersoft and
SetupBuilder as one of the most common vendors involved in software
installations :) Sometimes I like my job.

Hi Friedrich
And there I was thinking that there was none other :-)
And after that I still know there is none other.
Well done Friedrich. Without SetupBuilder, even the little of it we
currently use [there is soooo much], our job would be much more difficult.
BTW - I thought Wise had gone south.
Cheers
Andre

Congrats! Hopefully, that list is not in any particular order <g>.
Also, one aspect is that I bet all the other products have more
developers than you do working on their products. ;-) More often than
not, taking the simple route is better.

Thank you :-)
Yes, Wise is now End-of-Line and replaced by Flexera (InstallShield). But
there are thousands of companies still using Wise. BTW, about 20% of our
new SB customers are previous Wise users.

Their problem is that they are not using Clarion :-)

Yes, I was a Wise customer... I think it was the cheaper out there, and I
believe Topspeed recommended it if I'm not mistaken.
I use Setupbuilder as a story to explain to my customers why change can be
good.
" I remember something happened to Wise and I needed to change to another
installation program. I looked at Setupbuilder and quickly dismissed it as
too complicated to change to right now.
I suffered on for a few more months.
Then, I took another closer look and realized that it was actually easier to
use (Setupbuilder) than my old installation program (Wise). And ever since
then, I've been more productive with Setupbuilder, even though I dismissed
it at first.
Moral of the story, take a second look! "
Sold a lot of software with that story.

I pleaded with Roy for months to switch to SetupBuilder. And that is
what came about (which was something I did *not* lobby for <g>).
