View Full Version : License Agreement too large

I'm building an install for a new product and the license agreement is quite lengthy do to some 3rd party tools that have to be addressed... I just checked the rft word count and it's nearly 21,000 characters.

When I point to this rft for this license agreement, SB is giving me a message warning GEN1024: License Agreement text file too large (auto-truncated) and thus the agreement isn't complete. I've searched through the docs and cannot find what the actual size limit is for the license agreement. Can you tell me what it is so that I can see if I'm actually close or not.

Thanks,
Lisa

Lisa,

The compiler checks the file size of your RTF and if it is >102,400 bytes (100KB) then it displays the GEN1024 error. Did you use MS Word to create the RTF? It adds lots of garbage to the file. Try to open it in Wordpad and re-save. This will (should) remove most of the garbage.

Does this help?

Yes it had been created originally as a Word doc for inclusion in the manual, then I just saved it as an RTF. You were right, saving from Wordpad dropped the file size from 178k to 25k... what a bunch of crap Word saved!

Thanks, I'm good to go now. :)
