I have (what I think) is a very simple SetupBuilder Script I put
together under SB 7 several years back.
Last year I bought SB 8 but never used it because I couldn't get myself
to sit down and figure out how to learn what to do to make it work given
the new way we're supposed to be installing software in proper folders
and stuff. EXE's vs. data folders.
I've decided that I'm never going to get this done unless I reach out
and ask for help.
I have sold a few copies of my system so I'd like the new script to be
able to find the TPS files in the current install folder and move them
to wherever they SHOULD go.
Here are the basic needs as I see them:
1. Take my original script and figure out where the file were being
installed to on the customer computer.
2. Create a proper script that not only installs the new application in
the proper folder but also
3. Moves the old TPS files to the proper data location.
4. Follows proper convention for allowing user to install data files in
the proper user or public data folders.
5. Make sure things get properly code signed. I think I'll eventually
need to purchase a certificate (probably through LinderSoft) but I'm not
sure. If you don't mind helping me make sure I get all that done
correctly too - that would be great.
Basically, I need an install that works like a professional install
should work without the O/S complaining about my system being a virus or
such.
Let me know how much you'll charge me and try to give me some comfort
level that you are already well versed in what I'm asking for. i.e, I
don't care to be your training ground so if you have references that can
vouch for your work, that would be good.
