Updated Clarion 9 Manager (Build 9.1.11139.2) is available:

This is FREEWARE!

There is a new button ("Add SC"). It lets you create the Clarion 9.1 IDE
Start Menu and Desktop Shortcuts for you (including uninstall support).

What is this for, and do ordinary users need it?

Sort of includes everyone here so not sure what the intention is?

Some users have problems running the Clarion IDE because of missing
dependency components. You need a specific VC++2005 redist, VC++2008 redist
and the .NET Framework 2.0 installed (it's not "enabled" by default on newer
Windows OSs). The problem is that there might be different versions of the
VC++200x components installed on the same machine and some users uninstall
"older" ones. Or users decline the offer to install the components from
within the Clarion 9.x setup (I don't know why).

This freeware tool can check for the required components and the new build
9.1.11139.2 (for C9.1 Gold) can create the Clarion IDE shortcuts for you
(and add them to the uninstall log for later clean removal). It can also
detect an outdated Clarion 9.x installation and can verify if a Clarion
environment is correctly registered with Windows (important for 3rd-party
installer detection).
