View Full Version : Add a Quick Start

Good Day,
I would like to have a Quick Start file be displayed after the installation
is complete. What type of file is the best one to use? PDF, CHM or other.
And how would I implement it? I do have a checkbox to launch the
application. Should I use something like it or would it be best to have the
Quick Start in the application?
Thanks,
Bob

Bob,
PDF requires Adobe Reader etc. and that's not available on all machines.
..CHM is okay, or a .RTF.

Hi Friedrich,
Thanks for the info. I added a CHM to launch at the end of the install. It
compiles but does not launch when the install runs.
What am I missing? Does there have to be a file association on each
computer?
Thanks
Bob

Hi Bob,
If you are interested, please send your script to support (at) lindersoft
(dot) com and we'll check this for you.
I assume you have not checked the "Use ShellExecuteEx" option in the Run
Properties.

Brother, you are faster than I thought. I was going to say I figured it
out. I checked the Use ShellExecuteEx and the file displayed correctly. So
your assumption was correct.
Thanks for you very prompt reply. It is really great to know you have such
great support.
