Network Installs - Suggestions?

I am looking to revise my "network" installs.... for shared EXE and data....

What I have done in the past was to have a small setup.exe that creates
shortcuts on a workstation and registers anything else that needs to
happen. I include that in my main installer and its there of users to
run from the shared network location....

Does anyone do anything different? Is there a better way?

We do it your way.

The guy who makes the setups also manages a .tps file that goes along
with it. The user navigates to the network folder and runs the
shortcut exe one time.

Attached, is a screenshot of the shortcut manager.

What's nice about that, is that the support folks are able to set
things up when needed, vs waiting for the Setupbuilder guy to get
around to it.

For creating shortcuts, I stole some code from Jim Kane's Cmag
article.
