View Full Version : My heartfelt apologies to other cert requesters

I hate to rub it in (or do I?<g>) but I submitted my request for a new
signing cert yesterday, Sunday, and have it installed now, Monday,
without any hiccups or drama.
The key... be prepared before you start AND READ Jane's PDF's!!!!
My business name is DeveloperPLUS and I own www.developerplus.com so I
de-privatized the domain to open up who-is.
I removed the redirect to my primary site, cwaddons.com
Created a single, temporary, email address for the domain, cert@
Added a single page to developer.com (attached screen capture)
Scanned my city and county business licenses
Used IE on Win7
Requested a new certificate
Immediately opened a support ticket and attached the license scans
Replied to the "We will be calling to the number" message with "now"
Received the call
Exported my new certificate... DONE!
I wish everyone's experience was/is as easy as mine. Be a Boy Scout
and... "always be prepared!"<g>
Good to go for another 3 years!

That's pretty much how it went for me. Except I missed their original
phone call, so I got mine the next morning.

Lee,
You know what this means? It means Friedrich and Jane are jumping up
and down exclaiming, "Woo-hoo! Lee is now taking over this support issue!"

Not even close... note that I pointed out, in caps, a reference to
Jane's PDF's... there was a reason for that!<g>
Honestly I'd have gotten myself into trouble on more than one point if
I hadn't had Jane's PDF open while I walked through the process.

You can't unring the bell! :-)
To be honest, Jane's document was the reason I had a smooth ordering
process too! Who am I to argue with an armed lady?

OUCH! Felt that even in Australia. My previous cert went the same way as
yours Lee but not this one. Apart from the ISP being blacklisted (took two
days to fix and move) S&P had outdated information which must have been the
same as the previous application. That had to get changed as Comodo do not
believe ASIC information (Australian Securities and Investment Corp, read
Government). They told me they do not use WhoIs where the information is
also correct. Then there is the time difference. It just Dragged On. But all
happy now.

Nev,
> OUCH! Felt that even in Australia.
I do have to admit it was your recent adventure that I was comparing
with the hope that it lets others know it's not always such a drawn
out nightmare. Honestly with things being the way they tend to be I
fully expected this to be a whole lot slower than it was.
> But all happy now.
Just in time to begin a Happy New Year!

It's good to know that no one will beat my 2 month + 28 days record. I'm
calling Guiness tomorrow; or drinking one.
