Friedrich,
Tried to Update (twice) using the "Check for Updates" for SB5 Dev #1103 to #
1110 -
(Cable modem download, however slower Road Runner Lite version - W2K PRO)
Both times ended with this error - Source file not found
www.lindersoft.com/sb5/sb51101_dev.0089. Verify that the file exists and
that you can access it.
Also this error:
Network communication error - 504000000
This had previously happened to me when upgrading SB5 Dev #1078 to #
1101 (I don't remember getting the Network communication error on the
previous failure to upgrade - I try to screen capture all error windows), of
course, SB5 Dev #1101 to # 1103 upgraded correctly for me.
Attached are screen shots of error windows
since the install did not complete, I let it rollback to previous.
I downloaded the full version sb5_1110_Dev.exe 6,706,528, and it uninstalled
previous version and upgraded to Dev #1110 correctly.

David,
Hmm, this is very strange. I did not change anything in iDeploy for more
than 5 weeks now.
I cannot understand this "Network communication error - 504000000" error.
It means that there was a Winsock error on your machine. 5040 is an ID
to find out where the error is reported in the iDeploy source code. 000000
is the last Winsock error code (but in this case it's 0). So Winsock
reported an error, but the last Winsock error code was 0 (which means
everything is OK).
Could you please do me a favor? I have uploaded again build 1103 for you:
http://www.lindersoft.com/sb5/sb5_1103_Dev.exe
Would you please completely remove SB5 Dev #1110 and install #1103. Then
use WebUpdate again. Same problem? (I did not change anything on our
server)
Thank you for your help!!!

David,
I know why it reports 504000000 - our iDeploy code seems to clear the
Winsock error buffer before sending it to the installer :-( If you can
reproduce the problem with #1103, please let me know and I'll upload a new
web client to see the real error code.
Thanks again,
Friedrich

Hi David,
Thank you for your time!
10053 is Winsock error code #11053 - Software caused connection abort.
http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/WSK-19980702-EM02.htm
Do you have Norton Antivirus installed and "Internet Worm Protection"
enabled?
Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce this here on our machine, so I need your
help :) It appears to be machine specific...
I have uploaded a new client. Could you please try again to update from
#1103 to #1113? What do you see?
Thanks,
Friedrich

Friedrich,
I was wondering if you saw my question on your forum? It is in
regards of why I don't see a web deployment option after compilation
as is in SB4... Thanks.

Hi David,
That is very good news :) I have added minor modifications to the WebUpdate
client. If "the software" (virus scanner, etc.) closes the Winsock socket,
it now tries to re-open it to continue. Only if this fails it will report
error #11053.
Thanks again for your help!
