Change the extension to PFX and you're done.

Found the new signtool.exe, but still errors out

Are there any example of code signing for SB10? maybe something has changed
since SB8

It all worked nicely in SB8 and I copied the install file over to SB10
No good here
I am hoping Friedrich will be getting up soon

It worked nicely with your *new* SB8 certificate in SB8? I don't think so
;-)

Where do you have the .P12 file from? Neither Internet Explorer nor the
Microsoft 10 certificate store where able to export it to a PFX because the
private key part was missing. Without the private key information, you can
only export to a PKCS#7. But a PKCS#7 does not include the private (key)
part of a certificate/private-key pair, it is commonly used for certificate
dissemination. A PKCS#7 can't be used for code-signing! And it is not
possible to convert from PKCS#7 to PFX without additional data (the private
key part) because PKCS#7 doesn't have all of the data.

So is this really a "valid" .P12? Exported from a browser or the Windows
certificate store including private key file information?

See attached screenshot. Windows can only export your certificate to a .p7b
(this is not a .p12). The private key information is missing (because you
lost your hard drive and you did not make the private key information
exportable when you requested the original certificate). What did you do to
export your certificate to a real .p12? From the technical point-of-view,
this should be impossible (IMO).
