Everybody.
This message is about Russ Eggen. As I am sure you are aware he's was
everybody's Clarion teacher; forever a source for technical support, and an all
around great guy.
His cancer is back, seemingly with a vengeance. Russ has said that the MDs have
said that his condition is "terminal."
He's been released to home-hospice from the hospital.
Here's the situation. At the present time Russ is near the end of the first
GoFundMe money that so many of you did. He's got all the credit cards paid off
that had piled up before the first GoFundMe and paid for medical bills during
the Summer.
Russ recovered to the point of being able to get a job, but that didn't last
for too long as the cancer came back made him not able to work. He therefore
lost health insurance.
About mid November, Russ's health got so bad that he had to be admitted to the
hospital. They put stuff in him through every "port in the storm." While Russ
sounds much better, his overall prognosis has not changed.
Hence, another round of GoFundMe.
This one, however, is more specific.
First, the roof on Russ's house sprung bad leaks and had to be completely
re-shingled. I suspect that was about $20k, but I don't precisely know. There's
about $5K left on that bill and we're trying to raise funds to pay that off. It
will greatly ease his mind.
Second, despite Russ applying for SSI (Social Security Disability) that money
will not turn on for 60 - 90 days. That would probably be the end of January or
February, 2017.
So, part of this GoFundMe round is to help with his ability to survive until
those funds kick in.
Currently his monthly bills are about $4K. $2K for mortgage and electricity and
$2K for everything else. Clearly, Russ is being quite frugal. That's great.
So, if you can help with any amount that would be great.
